MVAS

The Parish Council has a Mobile Speed Activated SIgn (MVAS) which can be deployed at various sites around the village where we have a ground socket installed. These are:

 

• On Risborough Road as you approach the village, just after the 30 mph sign

• On Lower Road as you approach the village, just after the 30 mph sign

• On Anton Way heading towards Ellen Road, opposite the junction with Ravensbourne Road

• On Wendover Road heading towards Aylesbury,  just after Castlefields in the 40 mph limit

• On Wendover Road heading towards Aylesbury,  just before Eascote Road in the 30 mph limit

The sign can measure both the speed of cars approaching the front of the sign and vehicles travelling in the opposite direction away from the sign.​

Data from recent deployments is shown below. While a large proportion of vehicles are exceeding the 30 mph speed limit in Lower Road and Risborough Road, the number of people exceeding the speed limit by 5 mph is far less and the number exceeding the speed limit by more than 10 mph is negligible.
